Toanoi

Please note that the Obi fabric (Kimono) is vintage. Toanoi only uses high-quality kimono that has been carefully taken care of and repurposed into our bags. However in rare cases, there may be spots where the fabric is slightly faded or wrinkled. Although we believe the charm of the vintage fabric is what ties the pieces together. Thank you for shopping at Toanoi!

OBI FABRIC (KIMONO)

Obi fabric is a luxurious and versatile textile that requires special care to maintain its beauty and longevity. Here are some essential washing instructions to ensure your Obi fabric stays in pristine condition:

Hand Wash or Dry Cleaning Only: Obi fabric is delicate and should be hand washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the fabric’s vibrant colors.

Gentle Handling: When washing, gently agitate the water to clean the fabric without causing friction. Avoid wringing or twisting the fabric, as it can cause stretching and distortion.

Air Dry: After washing, lay the Obi fabric flat on a clean towel to air dry. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can fade the colors over time. Do not use a dryer, as the heat can damage the fibers.

Ironing: If necessary, iron the Obi fabric on the lowest heat setting while it’s still slightly damp. Place a thin cloth or a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent direct contact.

CANVAS

Canvas Tote Bag Kimono Pattern White

Canvas is a durable material commonly used in various applications, from clothing to home decor. Proper care ensures that your canvas items last longer:

Machine Wash: Most canvas items, such as clothing and bags, can be machine washed in cold or lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Use a gentle cycle to prevent excessive wear and tear.

Avoid Overloading: Don’t overload the washing machine to allow enough space for the canvas bag to move freely during the wash cycle.

Air Dry: After washing, air dry canvas items to prevent shrinkage and maintain their shape. Hanging canvas items can help minimize wrinkles.

Ironing: If needed, iron canvas on the reverse side using a medium-high temperature setting. Use a pressing cloth to avoid direct contact with the iron.

* Please note that some of our canvas bags may have other materials present. If so we do not recommend using a washing machine and highly encourage hand washing only the canvas. Any other fabric incorporated into our canvas bags do not need washing at risk of damage.

Hand Wash or Machine Wash: Use cold or lukewarm water and a mild detergent to risk any damage. If other materials are incorporated into your African fabric bag (all except nylon and cotton), we don’t recommend machine washing them.

Drying: Air drying would be best, however tumble drying can be used if necessary. Some fabrics may shrink if exposed to high heat, so take care when using a dryer.
